Production / Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
Pinetown – Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in the production of branding solutions for numerous retailers. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production and Operations Manager to oversee their production processes and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire production process, ensuring that all operations are carried out efficiently and effectively.
• Manage the production of both temporary and permanent items.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Establish and maintain quality control standards to ensure all products meet the required specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
• Lead and manage the production team, ensuring that all staff are working efficiently and productively.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the production team.
• Ensure that all orders are processed and completed in a timely manner.
• Prepare and present regular reports on production statuses, including progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Respond to changes in production briefs and ensure that adjustments are made promptly and accurately.
• Maintain flexibility to accommodate urgent production needs and last-minute changes.
• Be actively present on the production floor, stepping in to assist with production tasks as needed.
• Ensure that production processes are running smoothly and address any issues that arise in real-time.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary materials.
• Implement and maintain health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

• Proven experience in a production and operations management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in production management software and tools.
