Production Superintendant

SUMMARY:
Leading and well known manufacturer based in Linbro Park, Sandton requires an experienced Production Foreman / Superintendent.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications :
Matric is essential
A relevant technical qualification (Diploma / Degree or NQF6)
Minimum of 4 - 6 years’ Production Supervisory experience is required
Production experience within an FMCG / Pharmaceutical / Food Manufacturing / Packaging industry or similar industry is essential 
Production experience within a UNIONISED environment is essential
Experience with Quality Standards is essential

Duties :
Manage production and quality on the floor from raw materials to finished goods
Liaise with various departments within the business, with specific experience in the management of production facilities and raw materials functions ;
Computer Literacy in the Microsoft Office suite with an understanding of and relevant experience in the utilization of ERP/MRP systems in a production and sales environment will be advantageous;
An understanding of budgeting and basic financial principles
Experience in the application of FSSC 22000 or ISO 9001or HACCP or similar recognized Quality Management System;
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience in the handling of People & Resource Management;
Strong supervisory skills for +/- 100 staff
Proven experience in planning and scheduling as well as analytical problem-solving;
The ability to take initiative and direct the activities related to the areas of responsibility.
Experience in handling and implementing health and safety measures to ensure a safe working environment
Excellent communicator
Ability to solve problems and make swift, sound decisions.
Developing and implementing relevant WI’s or SOP’s for the respective departments to ensure standardization and sustainability
Participating in and coaching team members in analytical problem solving and continuous improvement, whilst continuously finding ways to enhance Performance and Quality;
Meeting and monitoring the flow of raw materials and consumables for Production ,Finishing/Converting;
Monitoring the implementation and improvement of Quality and Food Safety standards;
Overseeing the delivery of finished product according to schedules;
Managing Human Resources in his/her areas of responsibilities
Ensuring implementation of Preventative Maintenance objectives;
Tracking, analysing and correcting departmental performance;
Handling all relevant communication in the business through reporting and meeting attendance;
Managing work-flows in the factory and solving pressure points.
Managing and ensuring SHEQ compliance and safety access protocols
Ensure that housekeeping is maintained as per ‘5S’ standards and ensure continuous audit compliance.
Manage production out-put as per the production plan
