Our client in the commercial fishing industry is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team

Job type: Permanent, on-site

Job Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Production Supervisor guarantees that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflow.
• The supervisor will be multi-skilled, capable to work in different processing areas/lines and adapt to different processes.
• Products and processes will change over the time; therefore, the supervisor must be able to adjust to the new environments quickly.
• Be able to control and manage the different areas inside the production

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Minimum 1-2 years’ Supervisory Experience
• Supervisory Certificate or Supervisory Skills Programme - Advantageous
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within a production manufacturing or processing in cold production environment
• Knowledge of production processes
• Knowledge of food safety and related industry legislation
• Knowledge of efficiency best practices
• Knowledge of Labour legislation (BCEA & LRA)
• Communication skills in English
• Good knowledge of Mathematics, especially for understanding and measuring the different KPI (hourly production, inputs, yields, activity etc.).
• Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points).
• Understand the importance of processing products efficiently, quickly, safe and with excellent quality level.
