POSITION INFO:
Main purpose of the job:
- To coordinate evaluation of recruited participants in the different studies and assist other nurses in their daily work
Location:
- Baragwanath Neo Inspire, Chris Hani Baragwanath, Soweto - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
- To do study related duties as specified by the protocol
- Conduct home visit if need be
- Assess and recognize respiratory illnesses in participants
- Compile study progress reports on number of participants enrolled and activities performed
- Enter information on a data management site
- Ensure the QC of the data entered
- Establish a working relationship with clinic nurses/staff
- Follow-up participants who fail to attend their study visits
- Collect specimens from participants
- Ensure that all participants, parents/caregivers have signed informed consent forms
- Communicate routinely as needed to the study coordinator and Principal investigator regarding clinical management of subjects
- Attend and resolve queries that are generated by data management staff
- Do proper filing of results and any other study related documents in the relevant assigned place. Ensuring all study file materials/documents to be filed in an appropriate manner in the study related files
Required minimum education and training:
- Grade 12
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing
- Qualified as a Professional Nurse
- Valid Driver’s License and able to drive manual vehicle
Required minimum work experience:
- 2 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse in Neonatology
Professional body registration:
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
- Empathy and understanding to patients
- Be a Leader and hard worker
- Job requires consenting and enrolling participants
- Be responsible for the source documents
- Assist with administering the investigational products
- Completion of case notes, CRF’s and reporting AE’s and SAE’s
- Performing clinical assessments and monitoring vital signs
- Training in Ethics and GCP course with certificate not older than 3 years
- The candidate will have to night duty overtime as the need arises and weekend covers as well
