Job Description: Project Controls Manager

Job Type:

Contract, Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement project control processes and procedures
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to schedule and budget
• Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans
• Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with project team members to track and report on project deliverables
• Provide regular project status updates to senior management

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional).
• Certification in project controls, such as CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or PSP (Project Scheduling Professional).
• Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Project Management or related field (preferred).

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects in industries such as construction, engineering, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in leading a project controls team, with direct responsibility for developing and managing schedules, budgets, and project control processes.
• Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
• Experience working with project management and controls software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject.

Software Experience:

• Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject
• Full suite MS Office
• ERP systems such as SAP

Skills:

• Expertise in project scheduling and cost control techniques.
• Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and financial management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret project data and provide insights.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on time.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team of project control specialists.

Core Function:

• Schedule Performance Index (SPI): Maintaining a project SPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are on schedule.
• Cost Performance Index (CPI): Achieving a CPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are completed within budget.
• Earned Value Accuracy: Ensuring that earned value reports accurately reflect project status, with variances below 5%.
• Forecast Accuracy: Providing accurate project forecasts with variance from actuals of less than 5%.
• Change Request Management: Monitoring and controlling project scope changes, with less than 10% of changes leading to significant cost or schedule overruns.
• Stakeholder Satisfaction: Achieving a stakeholder satisfaction rate of 90% or above through regular communication and transparent reporting.
