Project Engineer

SUMMARY:
A well-established Cape Town company seeks a driven Project Engineer to manage and track complex product development and mould manufacturing projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in technical project management, progress tracking, and milestone delivery.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Certification in project management would be advantageous.
• Proven experience coordinating complex manufacturing projects, preferably in the plastics or manufacturing industry.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed project plans, manage resources, and track progress against milestones.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Competency in 3D – CAD design (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks)
• Be highly proficient in MS Office specifically MS Excel

• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies for product design and tool manufacture projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure alignment and efficient project execution.
• Drive the execution of project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
• Proactively monitor project progress and address any issues or roadblocks that arise.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the plan.
• Prepare and present comprehensive project status reports, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review project progress, discuss challenges, and make data-driven decisions.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives to streamline project management workflows.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the project team.
