Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent post in the Student Affairs Division to be based in Alice and East London

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
3 years working experience as a psychologist
1 year experience working in higher education sector
Valid Driver’s license

COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of and compliance with HPCSA regulations and Ethical guidelines
Communication skills and Interpersonal skills
Psychotherapeutic skills
Training and facilitation
Supervision skills
Problem Solving/Decision-making/Analytical thinking
Planning & organization / time management

DUTIES:

Provide Individual Psychotherapy and counselling to UFH students
Individual and Group interventions in Residence
Conduct Debriefing and Crisis interventions to manage trauma
Provide individual or group supervision to intern psychologists and social work interns
Supervision of intern psychologists’ Community interventions
Monitoring and evaluating intern psychologists and social worker interns
Facilitation of the Residence Talk programs
Training for Student cohorts e.g. TLC, Social Work Department, Health Science students, First Year Experience etc.
Submit monthly reports and monthly statistics
