Quality Assurance/Quality Control Controller

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA)/QUALITY CONTROL (QC) CONTROLLER. (Electrical/Instrumentation)

POSITION INFO:
JOB PURPOSE

• The QA/QC Engineer is to ensure manufactured products are developed and delivered to meet company & customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. This may also include inspecting and testing materials and parts delivered from outside suppliers, site installation inspections and site commissioning assistance.

JOB OBJECTIVES

• Define and ensure compliance to quality standards and procedures on all projects
• Ensure that quality assurance checklists are adequate, relevant and adhered to on all projects
• Ensure all projects have relevant quality control plans in place and that they are implemented and adhered to right through the project lifecycle
• Perform internal and external Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure compliance to client specifications and legal requirements
• Ensure that the following is in place and adhered to so as to ensure proper Project Control:
  • Design change notification documentation
  • Design/Technical query documentation
  • Engineering/Manufacturing/Site Installations/
  • Commissioning and QC inspections (internal & external)
  • Project Quality reviews and action plans
  • Commissioning and Handover documentation/certificates
  • Implementing quality standards defined by company processes and procedures
  • Adherence to client standards & procedures
  • Adherence to national standards, regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Resolving quality issues with customers & suppliers
  • Analysing test results and writing reports on findings
  • Expediting of fabricated/manufactured equipment supplied/delivered to site
  • Perform 3rd party QC inspections on behalf of clients, applicable to EPCM scopes
  • Report writing
  • Site quality audits and inspections
• Assist with internal/external audits
• Assist in conducting supplier evaluations/assessments
  • Assist with maintaining company statutory & regulatory compliance/accreditations
  • (ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 45001:2018 / ISO 14001:2015 /SANS 1973-1 / SANS 1973-3)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Technical Diploma (N6) or NQF equivalent preferable BTech Electrical or Instrumentation
• Exposure to Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Industry and at least 2 years QA/QC experience
• MV/LV Equipment knowledge & Testing methodology
• Knowledge of the following standards:
  • ISO 9001:2015
  • ISO 45001:2018
  • ISO 14001: 2015
  • SANS 1973-1
  • SANS 1973-3
  • SANS 10142-1
  • SANS 10142-2
