Job Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and assessments
• Monitor the implementation of safety controls, safe work procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses
• Maintain records of incidents, safety inspections, and other compliance-related activities.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and assess risks associated with plant operations, equipment, and processes.
• Develop, implement, and review risk management plans and safe working procedures (SWPs).
• Ensure effective implementation of safety measures such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and emergency stop systems.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations related to waste management, air quality, water usage, and hazardous materials handling.
• Implement environmental management programs
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits
• Develop and deliver health, safety, and environmental training programs and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Conduct safety orientations and inductions for new hires and contractors.
• Promote a safety culture by leading safety campaigns, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaising with trade unions

Qualifications

• SAMTRAC or equivalent
• First Aid
• National Diploma Safety or related (beneficial)

Skills

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment field
• OHS ACT
• ISO 45001:2018 Implementation and Auditing
• ISO 14001:2015 Implementation and Auditing
• System Auditing
• Incident Investigating
• Legal knowledge
