SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Radiation / X-Ray Technician in the Johannesburg South Area.
POSITION INFO:
Job Summary:
- Operate, inspect and assess manufactured products received from Foundry LP Casting department using 4 x-ray machines
- Routine responsibilities involve the use of various procedures and the application of clearly prescribed Works Instructions
Administration:
- Record and capture all non-conforming manufactured products on the scrap recording system as and when a non-conforming manufacturing product is detected
- Compile daily scrap and output sheets as prescribed by the department HOD at the end of each shift worked
- Compile and submit required production records and reports to next line of supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment) at the end of the working shift and/or any other time requested to do
- Identify and report any unsafe work condition to the next line in supervision (HOD, X-ray, sprue drill and Heat Treatment)
Production:
- Inspect manufactured products using calibrated x-ray equipment
- Automatic sheet identification selects the program itself
- Inspect manufactured products on the screen to detect defects which do not confirm to standard, mark rejected manufactured products using reject button for the crusher to damage manufactured products
- Inspect manufactured products on screen to detect defects which do not conform to standards
- Trouble shoot and report to the LP Casting HOD or LP Casting Technician should manufactured products not continuously flow to the X-ray machines
Quality:
- Compile all required process and quality documents as prescribed in Works Instructions and production control documents
- Strictly adhere to the Health, safety and Environmental policy of the Company
- Report any substandard in Quality, Maintenance and HSE to the next level in supervision (HOD, X-ray, Sprue drill and Heat Treatment)
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Non- Destructive Testing
- Radiographic Testing Level 2 (RTL 2) -Essential
- DIN EN ISO 9712 , Level 2 Added Advantage.
- Diploma in Production/Operations Management Qualification (Advantageous)
Experience:
- 5 years' experience with X -Ray
- 5 years' experience in Aluminum Practices Added advantageous
