Receiving Clerk

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a reliable and efficient Receiving Clerk to join their team and manage stock received into the warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a pharmaceutical warehouse environment to contribute to a well-organized, smooth-running warehouse operation

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Receiving & Distribution:
  Receive stock from suppliers and ensure it is properly checked in. Distribute stock from the bulk storage area to the appropriate mini storage areas, warehouse sections, or fridges. Carefully compare orders with purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies to the Operations Manager.
• Process Management & Monitoring:
  Monitor and oversee all activities within the receiving department. Ensure stock is efficiently processed and routed to the correct storage locations. Follow SOPs for receiving, handling, and storing stock to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Supplier & Procurement Liaison:
  Work closely with the Procurement Department to address any stock-related queries and follow up on responses. Actively engage with suppliers regarding credit returns, product complaints, expired stock, shortages, and other related issues. Raise claims with suppliers or reps where necessary to ensure that discrepancies are resolved quickly.
• Stock Monitoring & Discrepancy Resolution:
  Participate in weekly and annual stock take activities. Monitor and control the booking-in and booking-out of missing or found stock items. Investigate stock discrepancies and ensure timely resolution. Maintain a clear record of stock movements and discrepancies.
• Housekeeping & Safety Compliance:
  Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow OSHACT safety guidelines and ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to.

• Education:
  A minimum of Grade 12.
• Experience:
  2-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical warehouse environment is preferred, with a strong understanding of stock receiving, handling, and inventory management.
• Skills:
  Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to follow procedures precisely. Strong communication skills to work effectively with various departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Personal Attributes:
  A proactive problem-solver who can efficiently follow up on queries and resolve issues promptly. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
