JOB DESCRIPTION:

5* Hotel  is seeking a receptionist to join their bespoke team. If you see yourself working in one of Cape Town's most luxurious locations then this position is for you!

Assist guests at hotel/village with personal services. May take messages, arrange or give advice on transportation, business services, or entertainment, or monitor guest requests for housekeeping and maintenance.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same or similar position
  • Opera Experience Required
  • Familiar with all duties and procedures in Front Office Reception
  • Clear Credit record

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for adhering to operating systems and procedures for the Front Desk departments
  • Responsible for providing and monitoring of guest services throughout the unit in accordance with Company standards and requirements
  • Maximize room revenue, room sales and achieve maximum room rates by monitoring of peak and valley occupancy periods
  • Responsible for the financial aspects of the Front Desk Operation by ensuring all charges are raised and deviances are recorded
  • Strictly control Petty cash / Front Office float
  • Ensure that daily house lists are correct and timeously distributed
  • Ensure that all debtors are recorded, accounted for, and all supporting documentation is together and passed to accounts department
  • Ensure regular float counts are undertaken, and float has adequate change
  • Report any faulty equipment to management
  • Ensure daily pit checks & credit checks (floor limits) are done
  • Ensure detailed handover of shifts are done in an orderly and unrushed manner.
  • Ensure that all lost property is recorded and stored
  • Ensure that all guest complaints are followed up and rectified immediate in a positive and professional manner
  • Ensure that wake up calls are offered on arrival, are recorded, and programmed
  • Ensure that the reception area creates a positive impression by keeping it neat, tidy and orderly
  • Ensure that all guests to be met, registered, and roomed with in 5 minutes of arrival at hotel
  • Assist guests with airline confirmations, tourist information, personal requests etc
  • Assist in the induction and training of all new employees and trainees into Front Office
  • Ensure that correct method of payment is established and/or received on arrival of guest, prior to a room key being handed out (in the form of a valid voucher, cash prepaid, or a credit card which has to be pre-authorized)
