Reporting Accounant

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a highly skilled Reporting Accountant with a strong background in management accounting to join our property industry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts that provide detailed insights into revenue, overheads, and overall profitability. The role will require the use of Syft for reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, offering detailed reports on revenue streams, overhead costs, and overall business profitability.
• Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key trends and variances.
• Provide insightful commentary that explains the financial results and offers recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain accurate tracking of timing differences through the use of provisions and accrual journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of monthly financial reports.
• Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to ensure alignment with financial goals and budgets.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Proven experience in management accounting, preferably within the property industry.
• Strong proficiency in Syft & XERO or similar financial reporting software.
• In-depth understanding of financial analysis, with a focus on variance analysis against budget.
• Knowledge of accruals, provisions, and other accounting practices to manage timing differences.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
• CIMA or articles (SAIPA / SAICA) qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
