POSITION INFO:
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring agricultural products, ensuring optimal stock levels, and building strong relationships with suppliers.
You will play a crucial role in driving cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for agricultural products to support business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure timely replenishment to prevent shortages.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and operations, to align purchasing with customer demands.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and performance evaluations.
- Analyze procurement data and generate reports to support decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the retail agriculture sector.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management skills.
- Understanding of agricultural products, market trends, and seasonal purchasing cycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and procurement systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
