SUMMARY:
Masa Outsourcing is looking for a RIGGER/ OPERATOR To conduct safe rigging practices in a professional manner on-site as per Machine Moving and Engineering Clients.

Qualifications
- Trade-Tested Rigger Certificate.
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of rigging equipment, tools, and techniques.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of load distribution and lifting angles.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- High level of physical fitness and manual dexterity.
Work Experience
- Inspect all lifting tackle before use, ensuring it is safe and compliant with regulations.
- Record all lifting tackles in a register, keeping the register up to date.
- Demarcate or cordon off the danger area of the lift to prevent unauthorized access.
- Ensure that no persons walk under the suspended load during operations.
- Do not leave any load suspended during long breaks, such as lunch or overnight.
- Ensure that you and your team always wear the correct PPE, including head, eye, hand, foot, hearing protection, and reflective vests.
- Use a whistle to warn people before the lift commences and while the lift is taking place.
- Use guide ropes or tag lines to control the movement of the lift, ensuring safety and precision.
- Do not carry out any lift in extreme wet weather or heavy winds.
- Ensure that all safety standards and procedures for lifting operations and lifting tackle are complied with at all times.
- Conduct Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments for each job, communicating the plan to the team.
- Ensure that lifting equipment inspections are always on the truck. Inspect the equipment before use, and do not use it if it is unsafe.
- Ensure that the safety file is always on the truck and kept in good, clean condition. The client may not keep the safety file; if needed, a digital copy can be emailed by operations.
- Complete a daily HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) for every job, regardless of its size or simplicity, and ensure the team signs it.
- Ensure job sheets are signed by the client twice, and time sheets are completed and signed by all team members correctly. Submit these documents to operations with a completed HIRA. If they are not correctly completed, the day’s wages will not be paid.
- Always carry your appointment pack and ensure it is kept updated.
- Sign for all equipment issued by the workshop and return it in the same condition.
- Ensure that the team works safely, and report any incidents or near misses to operations immediately.
- Report back to operations with your completed job sheet, time sheet, and HIRA as soon as you return to the depot.
- Only use MME-issued PPE, and always keep it clean and well-maintained.
- Be accountable for any damages to MME property or the property of the client; such damages will be your responsibility.
