SUMMARY:
Our client in the Automotive industry is looking for a Robot Engineer to join them in the Paint Shop department
POSITION INFO:
ROBOT Engineer
Job Purpose:
- Develop, verify and monitor programs for spray painting robots in paint plant
- Develop, verify and improve jigs utilized in paint plants for spray painting applications of products
- Determine and monitor process parameters and efficiencies off paint robots, paint kitchens, paint booths, conveyor system and air supply unit for entire paint plant
- Support production needs by troubleshooting and correcting spray application issues incurred with paint plants
- Support paint plants EBITDA growth and productivity objectives by modifying programs of spray painting robots to decrease cycle times, increase capacity and increase process yields with respect to quality
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for implementations of process improvement infrastructure to support cost saving initiatives, material consumptions and downtime to senior management
- Upskill and offer technical support to process and maintenance team via insights into paint application issues incurred with paint plants
- Support business growth through new project implementations
- Create requisitions for project needs by creating project files complete with all relevant evidence
- Monitor and correct variations in terms of Bill of Materials and material consumption by verifying ERP system consumption vs actual consumption
- Support quality team with troubleshooting off defects and reject issues incurred daily
- Coordinate projects within the paint shop and extended value stream of the site with technical insight of painting process
- Conduct utilization studies for all paint plants
- Implement and report Kaizen activities regarding TPM’s
- Utilize knowledge of offline/online programming on K-Roset software (eg modifying and editing program, creating world for new projects)
Education:
- Matric
- BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic/Electronic or Robot Engineering
Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of technical experience in Spray Painting Applications / Technical knowledge of paint manufacturing would be advantageous
- 2 to 5 years of technical experience in Robot Programming would be advantageous / Strong Engineering Skills
- Extensive knowledge of quality control tools
- Proficiency in MS Office/ Proficiency in CAD based programs (CATIA, OPR3D, K-ROSET)
- Strong knowledge of ERP Systems (SAP) would be advantageous
