Royalties Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for financial reporting and monthly management accounts preparation and presentation to management. The core function of the role will be to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and management accounts presentation to management.

Duties and responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and schedules and variance analysis
• Preparation of monthly journals
• Tax management and overall financial compliance including filing tax returns, responding to SARS’ audits and queries.
• Plan and ensure smooth running of the external audit annually
• Recommend, maintain and review internal controls
• Preparation and maintenance of annual budget within stipulated timelines

The Ideal candidate

• Minimum honours qualification in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong and proven problem solving skills
• Strong and proven ability to be innovative and think outside of the box
• Registration with an accounting body will be an added advantage
• Royalties experience in the music industry will be added advantage
