SENIOR CAM AUTO SETTER OR Sliding Head Auto Setter - Maitland - R35 000 - R42 000PM plus Medical and Pension contributions

Precision Engineering Machine Shop, which is a market leader in the field of precision mechanical manufacturing with its origins in the field defense industry seeks a  Trade Tested Auto Setter who has solid experience on CAM Autos. The machines have a cycle time of 15 seconds, they are old Index Machines that make high Volume components. These machines have Small Pinions and Mechanical CAMS to produce parts. You will need to work out CAM calculations. Sharpening of tools will also be part of your function.

Perm or Contract. You will also need to do the indexes. These machines are 30yreas old, so we are not looking for a youngster, we are looking for an expert, who is willing to part with knowledge and train juniors. We would even take a retired specialist on a contract basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified Artisan/AA Sliding Head Auto Setter
• Previous experience in a high-volume precision mechanical engineering environment is essential.
• Good Technical knowledge of drawings, equipment, and machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Machines are set and maintained for producing components to the planning productivity and quality standards;
• Operators are fully instructed in the operation of the respective machine process before full operation of the machine under minimum supervision;
• Setting scrap is kept to a minimum and segregated from acceptable production;
• All production remains identified during all manufacturing stages;
• Corrective action is immediately taken when adverse trends are noted or brought to his attention;
• Maintain good housekeeping.

RECOMMENDED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines;
• Experience in various Single/Multi Spindle Auto machines;
• Problem-solving: Ability to identify faults; problems and determine solutions;
• Knowledge of safety regulations (safety conscious at all times).
