SETTLEMENTS SPECIALIST, Cape Town.

Position Summary

Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Settlements Specialist to join the team. The

successful candidate will be responsible for processing all aspects of securities settlements, including: trade confirmations, trade allocations, and trade discrepancies.

Key Performance Areas will include but not limited to:

• Confirm and allocate trades with counterparties and internal departments.

• Ensure all trades are settled on time and in accordance with established guidelines.

• Resolve trade discrepancies and communicate with internal and external parties to resolve

issues.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all settlements.

• Monitor and analyse settlement activity to identify and mitigate potential risks.

• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to improve

efficiency and accuracy.

• Provide support to other departments as needed.

• Any other duties as the business requires.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification

• 3-5 years’ experience in Settlements

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain

• Experience working with global securities and financial markets.

• Ability to think out of the box using initiative.

• Ability to work well independently and in a team.

• Capable of organising and structuring workload - Self starter

• Flexible with the ability to multitask on various levels.

• Solid understanding of settlements, trading and the markets

• Any other duties as the business requires.

• Proficient in MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel

• Knowledge of Strate, JSE and international markets in respect of settlements
