SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Client in Kyalami needs your 5 years experience as a SHEQ Officer. SAMTRAC and ISO 9001:2015 esential. Engineering or manufacturing environment expeirence needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Compile and maintain safety files and other related relevant files for projects.
  2. Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments if and when required and identify risk mitigation measures.
  3. Provide SHERQ improvement proposals, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation on NCRs issued.
  4. Follow up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensure that requirements are complied with.
  5. Report on Employee misconduct or poor performance where repetitive matters are not being addressed according to SHERQ requirements.
  6. Conduct SHE Committee Meetings (plan, scheduled and review).
  7. Attend meetings if and when required on behalf of the Company''s SHERQ/QA department.
  8. Investigation and Corrective Actions Reporting. 
  9. Investigate the root cause of SHE complaints put forward by staff members etc and report the result to the QA Manager.
  10. Coordinate and participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses and prepare all SHERQ related documentation.
  11. Administer and manage all RMA Claims.
  12. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly SHERQ reports, statistics and presentations related to SHERQ performance.
  13. Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency. Maintain records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements.
  14. Supervise the regular inspection of firefighting, safety and emergency response equipment at sites and offices.
  15. Assist in development and implementing of emergency response procedures and evacuation plans on site and offices. Ensure that these plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
  16. Ensure that the emergency plans are communicated to staff and visitors and update registers on training and induction.
  17. Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence.  Monitor and review those corrective measures that has been implemented.
  18. Assist in developing all the required documentation, operational checks and reports for the SHE Management System to be compliant with ISO standards, including corrective and preventive.
  19. Review and amend SHERQ standards, specifications, policies, and procedures for approval.
  20. Establish and Monitor Safe Work Procedures; Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Instructions for tasks as and when required.  Ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
  21. Planning and coordinating SHERQ related training for employees. (Bookings, ensuring payments etc.)
  22. Plan, schedule, coordinate and conduct safety and orientation training. Identify, further develop, and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
  23. Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time by management
Desired Experience & Qualification
  1. National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety / Environmental / Risk / Quality Management or any alternative equivalent qualification, i.e.. SAMTRAC
  2. Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  3. At least 5 years’ experience as a SHEQ officer.
  4. First aid level 2 Certification.
  5. Fire Fighting Certification.
  6. In-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry’s Health, Safety, Environmental, Risk and Quality regulations.
  7. Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), etc.
  8. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.
  9. Attention to detail.
  10. Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  11. Ability to handle a stressful and fast paced environment.
  12. Ample experience in implementing corrective/preventive measures.
