SMI 14654 - Collections Secretary – Minimum 3 years as Secretary in Collections within a Law Firm, Knowledgeable in full collection process

Our client is in search of a competent Collections Secretary to join their dynamic team. We are seeking an experienced individual who can operate fully in the collection process with little to no supervision. You will be responsible for providing support to an attorney in the Debt Collection Department working with specialized levy collections as well normal debt collection matters, from receipt of instruction up to finalization, as well as organizing and maintaining files. You may also be asked to file pleadings with court clerks and help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required.

Duties will include:

• Preparing and drafting legal documents, including summonses, notices, and other pleadings related to levy collection matters.
• Managing and maintaining case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly organized.
• Communicating with clients, debtors, and third parties in a professional and courteous manner to obtain necessary information and provide case updates.
• Monitoring deadlines and court schedules, ensuring timely filing and service of legal documents.
• Assisting attorneys with the preparation of court bundles and supporting documentation for hearings and trials.
• Conducting basic legal research and gather information as needed to support case preparation.
• Maintaining confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Performing general administrative duties, including scheduling, managing correspondence, and handling phone calls.
