Office based in Fourways, Johannesburg
Our client seeks a Marine Junior Underwriter and Administrator with a good technical foundation in marine insurance, astute with good language and interpersonal skills, writing skills, and computer literate, attention to detail. Client interfacing with a professional disposition. Soundtrack record in the insurance industry.
Duties Include:
– Pull loss data for renewals
– Prepare renewal invite pack for Senior Underwriters and submit to Broker
– Loading, issuing and activating new policies
– Endorsements / amendments
– Policy administration on Cardinal Insurance Management System
– Analyse new business data, risks and profile
– New business quotes, negotiation and follow ups within mandate
– Weekly reporting to management
– Working with brokers and maintaining broker relationships
– Assist all underwriters on various administrative matters / work
Qualifications
Meets FAIS Fit & Proper requirements. Completed RE5.
Skills
2 to 3 years’ experience in marine insurance. Own Reliable Transport. General knowledge: Knowledge on Incoterms (preferable). Understands the basics of contracts (preferable). Good geographical knowledge. Keeps abreast with current affairs affecting various sectors of the marine industry.
