Job Description

Our client is in search of a competent Collections Secretary to join the team in January 2025. You will be responsible for providing support to an attorney in the Debt Collection Department from receipt of instruction up to finalization, as well as organizing and maintaining files. You may also be asked to file pleadings with court clerks and help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required.

Duties will include:

• Preparing documents i.e. standard court pleadings documents and affidavits and legal correspondence,
• Drafting summons, letters to sheriff, affidavits, request for default judgments.

Qualifications

• Matric.
• Any legal related qualification.

Skills

The successful candidate must have:

• Min 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong oral and written communication skills (good grammar and spelling).
• Dictaphone typing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
