Sales Consultant Agent (x2) – R26k/month – Perm - Cape Town – start asap – open to all

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Handling of safari requests from agents with planning, costing and accurate information within the required turnaround time
  • Proactive response to agent request including suggestions on itinerary design, routing, logistics, alternatives, upselling an offering additional information as needed
  • Follow booking procedures set out in the SOP when booking all properties, vehicles, and activities that make up the safari
  • On confirmation, complete the safari file with all the relevant information required
  • Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth running of the sales process
  • Follow up with agents after a safari for any feedback
  • Report any errors or issues to your line manager immediately on discovery
  • Provide proactive support to colleagues during peak or leave times
  • Proactive approach towards your personal and departmental target and working together with management to ensure targets are met.
  • Handling of safari requests from agents with costing and accurate information within the required turnaround time
  • Proactive response to agent requests including suggestions on itinerary, design, routing, logistics, alternative, upselling and offering additional information as needed
  • Follow booking procedures wet out in SOP when booking all properties, vehicles and activities that make up the safari
  • Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth running of the sales process
  • Follow up with agents after a safari for any feedback
  • Report any errors discovered
  • Provide support during peak or leave times
  • Ensure targets are met

 

Minimum requirements & Conditions and working hours:

  • Monday – Friday – 9 hours per day (including 1-hour lunch break) depending on the teams set up and requirements.  Flexible working hours can be discussed after probation period of 3 months is completed
  • You may be required to work alternative SA public holidays for which you will be compensated with time of in lieu
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods for which you may be compensated with time off in lieu
  • An emergency phone that rotates between consultants will be your responsibility for 1 week (24/7) as per a roster
  • You may be required to travel for work from time to time
  • Minimum requirements:
  • Experience in and knowledge of East Africa Safari Sales
  • Good understanding of the safari tourism environment
  • Experience in dealing with and delivery in on western business demands
  • Experience with travel & reservation systems
  • Skilled in designing details and individualized quotes for itinerary request
  • 10 – 15 years’ experience in hospitality & tourism
  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Travel
  • Computer literate:  Word, Excel
  • Keen interest in the safari industry – previous working experience advantageous
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Work well under pressure
