As a Cybersecurity Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping organisations anticipate and mitigate security threats. Your expertise ensures that a business remains resilient against cyberattacks, complies with regulations, and maintains customer trust.

Duties:

• Assess clients’ systems, networks, and processes to identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks.
• Develop and recommend tailored cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, and solutions to address identified risks.
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis to ensure robust defences.
• Implement security measures, including configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption protocols.
• Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, such as GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 standards.
• Create and deliver detailed security assessment reports, including actionable recommendations.
• Design and execute incident response plans, assisting clients in managing and recovering from security breaches.
• Train and educate client teams on cybersecurity awareness, best practices, and emerging threats.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and attack techniques to provide cutting-edge advice.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Honour’s degree in related field will be advantageous.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and COBIT.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT consulting.
• Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Experience working with diverse industries and adapting security strategies to various business needs.
• Familiarity with cloud security solutions and securing hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Strong technical proficiency in security tools, including SIEM systems, firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols, cryptography, and threat modelling.
• Ability to write scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate security tasks.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address security issues effectively.
• High attention to detail and a proactive mindset to anticipate and mitigate potential risks.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
• Adaptability to quickly respond to evolving threats and changing client needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
