Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a significant leadership / security management role
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage the functional capital and expense budget
- Diploma in Security Management highly advantageous
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience overall in the retail and facilities environment
- Proficient in isi-Xhosa
- Valid drivers license (travel required) and own transport
- Past military or police experience highly advantageous
- Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) – Grade A
- Leadership skills to provide direction to the management and professional staff within the organization
- Ability to develop consensus within an organizational climate of diverse operational activities and often conflicting regulations imposed by agencies with regulatory jurisdiction
- Ability to build sustainable competitive advantages through pragmatic, innovative security solutions
- Demonstrated integrity, ability and emotional maturity to maintain principles under internal and / or external pressure and to understand impact and sensitivity of security issues
- High quality analytical skills, management experience and exceptional relationship management competencies
- Qualitative experience in strategic planning and / or policy development at senior level
- Ability to anticipate, influence and assist the organization to assess and rapidly adjust to changing conditions and trends (internal and external) of importance to the direction of the organization
- Effectiveness in communicating recommended course of action for innovative, business oriented responses, within all levels of the organization, including briefing executive management on status of security issues
- Passion for excellence and a demonstrated orientation toward successful staff development
- Proficient in English language
- Effective demonstratable presentation skills
Key Performance Areas:
- Developing and directing the organizations security program
- Direct staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical and personal risk
- Through subordinate Supervisors, coordinate and implement site security, operations and activities to ensure protection of Directors, Managers, employees, physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment
- Develop and deliver service in response to criminal financial loss, counterfeiting, crimes against persons, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts and property or environmental crimes
- Accountable for state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the organizations assets and correct security vulnerabilities with new systems
- Develop and implement intrusion detection systems to prevent abuse within the organization
- Develop relationships with high level law enforcement, security, intelligence agencies and private sector counterparts
- Brief executive management on status of security issues
