SUMMARY:
Senior Accountant

POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in process improvement, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What to Expect

Supervision and review of reconciliations across the group
Overseeing the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
Oversee the processes, review and approval of payments and assist with the implementation of a streamlined payment process
Assisting with the implementation of a streamlined credit card process
Maintenance of the fixed asset register and related processes
Preparation and review of general journals and supporting the month end close process
Ensuring reliable and punctual financial Record-To-Report process in accordance with the group standards
Providing necessary documentation to support internal and external auditors
Proactively work on process improvement, efficiency and automation, improving the internal financial control environment
Ad hoc: Assist with tax items across the group (PAYE, VAT, Directives), Banking Administration and resolution of queries, Assist with any additional tasks as required

What You'll Bring

Qualifications & Experiance

BCom degree or Honours or equivalent qualification in accounting
CIMA, SAIPA or AGA designation
Accounting Principles 3+ years of experience applying accounting principles in practice
Overall Accounting Experience 5+ years of direct accounting experience with broad exposure in capturing, processing, reviewing, and reporting

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software packages
Highly organised and detail oriented
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Proactive and able to take initiative
Adaptable to changing environments and technologies
