SUMMARY:
An established manufacturing group in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function across multiple entities.
This role offers hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations, reporting directly to the CEO, and requires strong experience in manufacturing, cash flow management, and statutory compliance.
Knowledge of imports, payroll, and QuickBooks is essential, with trust and accountability being key to success.
POSITION INFO:
Overseeing the monthly accounting process using QuickBooks Desktop
Preparing management reports for the CEO and financial institutions
Managing the IDC facility with Nedbank and assisting with monthly audits
Handling import-related processes and customs documentation
Finalising and reconciling the trial balance for annual financial statement preparation
Managing VAT and PAYE returns for approximately 200 employees
Assisting with selected business payments, requiring a high level of integrity and trust
Managing cash flow and forecasting, and reporting directly to the CEO
Supervising and supporting debtors, creditors, and payroll clerks
Actively participating in day-to-day operations and decision-making
Collaborating closely with the CEO and external accountants
Preparing and analysing manufacturing-specific financial reports
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a senior accounting or financial management role within the manufacturing industry
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and hands-on accounting processes
Demonstrated experience in cash flow management, forecasting, and financial reporting
Solid understanding of VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance for medium to large employee bases
Experience with imports and customs procedures
Ability to lead and supervise finance staff (debtors, creditors, payroll)
Strong communication and ability to communicate across business units
Qualification:
BCom or BCompt in Accounting
