RESPONSIBILITY
AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL
We seek a suitably qualified individual to ensure that production is adequately supplied with appropriate quality material at optimal cost.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ordering raw material via MRP system weekly.
Expediting and following up on orders to arrive on time.
Evaluate appropriate use of alternative suppliers.
Measuring of supplier performance.
Ensure information on the system regarding delivery performance and master data is accurate.
Ensure the appropriate quality product is procured at the lowest cost
Develop existing and new suppliers.
Driving cost saving initiatives.
Communicating daily with Plants on their requirements.
Overseeing the outbound and inbound functions
Ordering raw materials ( Liasing with Suppliers, forecast and demand to suppliers)
Outbound logistics ( Ensuring customers e.g Nissan and Ford and BMW are supported and receiving goods timeously)
Inventory controlling ( stock takings, cycle counts)
Management of staff inbound and outbound
Daily reporting (Backflushing)
Attending plant meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Be in possession of NDip. Logistics or Purchasing or equivalent.
At least 3 years working experience within a purchasing and functional logistics in an Automotive Industry Tier 1.
Good understanding of MRP and experience in ordering off MRP.

KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS
Sound knowledge of ERP Purchasing and Logistics Systems.
SAP advantageous.
Product knowledge and ability to identify, categories and understand technical information.
Good negotiating skills.
