Senior Human Resource Practitioner

Key responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the total HR function within a particular Business Unit / Department
• Provide proactive HR service to the respective Business Unit relating to recruitment, industrial relations, training (soft skills), employee benefits, policies, organisational structures, performance management, employee assistance and HR related administration
• Responsible for providing daily subject matter expertise regarding HR related advice
• Ensure that the Business Unit adheres to the relevant HR policies and procedures
• From time to time, take on HR related projects, and may be required to do HR related research
• Function independently without direct supervision
• Responsible for actively resolving shop floor grievances / conflict, and dealing with shop floor shop stewards
• Required to provide HR related training to employees and Managers
• Work with and communicate with all levels of employees up to senior and executive level
• Required to provide HR related reports

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• B. Com Degree in HR Management / related subject field
• 10 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• 8 Years managing Trade Unions
• Relevant Legislation – Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Employment Equity Act
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
