Senior IT Support Technician

SUMMARY:
Role: Snr IT Field Engineer/Technician
Location: Parow, Cape Town

Our client, a successful MSP with 15 years of industry experience, are currently looking for a Snr IT Field Engineer/Technician to join their dynamic team. The role involves remote and field support, working with several corporate clients in Cape Town. This is a fabulous opportunity for an IT Support Engineer who has good IT infrastructure support experience and a passion for new technologies. They are a growing company who are also transitioning into an ISP and so there are exciting plans ahead!

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Desktop Support: Active Directory, supporting printers and video conferencing equipment
• Support hardware and software: oversee the setup, maintenance, and decommissioning of workstations.
• Server Management
• Networking: setting up VPN’s and knowledge of LAN’s and VLANS
• IT Policies: Ensure IT policies are followed, including security (anti-malware) and user access management and track and manage the IT asset register
• Supporting hosted telephony systems – (3CX Telephony System knowledge a benefit)
• Manage and monitor firewalls
• Participate in IT system improvements and installations

• 5yrs of relevant IT Support/ Infrastructure support experience including Desktop (including AD & software & hardware support), networking (able to set up VPN’s with knowledge of VLAN’s/ LAN’s), hosted telephony support, firewalls support (ability to configure firewalls would be a plus) and server management
• Matric required
• A+ and N+ required
• IT Diploma would be advantageous
• MCSE or similar would be advantageous
• Must have car and valid driver’s license
