SUMMARY:
Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a Ship Planner, someone with about 2 years of experience in a shipping environment preferably a ships agency.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
- Monitor/communicate vessel arrival with colleagues and port authorities.
- Manage the arrangements of berthing and plan accordingly managing third parties etc.
- Manage the authorities and legal requirements to berth the vessel and management of crew requirements.
- Plan the vessel with the chief officer.
- Monitor vessel operation (discharge and load).
- Daily Vessel Operations Prospect to.
- Arrival and Departure reports for all vessels.
- Compile vessel sailing schedule for local office on fortnightly.
- Process invoices.
Requirements:
- 2 years experience in a shipping environment preferably a shipping agency.
- Operations experience in a Junior function is essential.
- Maritime/Logistic NQF 4/5.
- overtime/after-hours work required to manage the vessel when at the terminal including public holidays etc.
- Attention to detail, and strict adherence to rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and handling difficult situations.
- Stress tolerance in an ever-changing environment.
- Computer skills and communication skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Professional candidate to deal with third parties at all levels.
- Able to get to the office before 08h00 every day (punctual, self-disciplined).
- Must have own reliable transport.
- Ability to work under pressure under minimum supervision.
- Be prepared to visit the terminal at all hours when required to do so.
