SUMMARY:
Site Clerk opportunity for a Building Contractor in Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Clerk to join our clients team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. This role requires a strong understanding of site administration, cost management, and subcontractor payment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all site administration tasks efficiently.
• Measure up work for subcontractor payments and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Monitor and manage site costing, including materials, wages, and expenses.
• Process weekly wages and maintain related payroll records.
• Prepare and update reports, spreadsheets, and documentation using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Track and verify supplier and subcontractor invoices.
• Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and accessible when required.
• Assist the Site Manager and Project Team with administrative duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
• Experience in measuring up work for subcontractor payments.
• Strong numerical and organizational skills to manage site costing and wages.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of construction contracts and billing procedures.
• Previous experience using construction management software would be an advantage.
