JOB DESCRIPTION
The Skidsteer Operator’s primary purpose is to provide support within the Engineering division as dictated by operational requirements in the form of moving objects and sweeping large areas within the yard and surrounding areas within Engineering. The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)
- Carry out daily inspections of the Skidsteer and report any faults
- Do general maintenance and cleaning of the Skidsteer
- Move and place objects of steel and other scrap material where instructed
- Assist in loading containers
- Sweep and clean road ways in production yard
- Complete check lists and log sheets
- Maintain safe working procedures at all times
- Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Company policies
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Valid Skidsteer license and/or certificate
- Valid Code 8 Drivers License is mandatory
- Relevant experience
- Willingness to work overtime
- Previous experience in a physically demanding working environment would be advantageous
