Soft Services Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Soft Services Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing cleaning operations across multiple contracts and commercial buildings predominantly at night. This role involves providing essential support to on-site teams, including cleaning staff and supervisors, while serving as a liaison with day shift management. The supervisor will conduct inspections, manage supply deliveries, handle staffing needs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, all while striving to meet service level agreements (SLA).

POSITION INFO:
Key Accountabilities or Principal Responsibilities
 
Primary Duties
Oversee night cleaning operations at various sites to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
Travel between different contracts and sites as needed.
Support on-site supervisors and staff to promote efficient workflow and high morale.
Coordinate sourcing and transportation of relief staff after hours.
Manage the delivery of cleaning supplies and chemicals to site as required.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleaning standards and SLA requirements.
Monitor equipment maintenance and conduct routine checks to ensure it is operational and safe.
Handle human resource matters, including staff issues and industrial relations.
Collaborate with day shift management to ensure smooth transitions and operational continuity.
 
Secondary Duties
Address and resolve any complaints or issues that arise promptly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation, including OHS registers and Daily Safety Task Analysis.
Participate in toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety and communication.
Assist with preparation of chemical orders and inventory checks.
Complete reports related to safety, cleanliness, and operational performance.
Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as required.
 
It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time.  
 
Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required

Key Skills and Experience
Minimum Grade 12 education.
Supervisory experience and people leadership of at least 5 years.
Proven experience in contract cleaning and managing multiple contracts simultaneously
Excellent knowledge of general hygiene practices and facility layouts
Strong understanding of cleaning products, their applications, and safety protocols
Excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices.
A valid unendorsed driver's license is required for travel between sites
