A pioneering tech company in Glasgow focused on sustainability in the energy world (so you get to feel good about the work you do!) is looking to add to their testing team.
The company are leaders in their (niche!) field, and have done some interesting and varied projects across the UK from Shetland to Glasgow, as well as further afield (the rest of the UK, Europe and the US). They have a huge range of products, as well creating bespoke applications for their clients - so there's no shortage of interesting projects to get stuck into.
There is a huge focus and journey that the testing team are on to further the automation testing within the testing function (although there will continue to be an element of 'manual' testing), in particular across technical team/project to modernise their customer's user experience. Part of this journey involves modernising the testing (so you can be assured you will gain a modern skillset with this company!), implementing BDD and TDD approaches as well as advocating for a 'shift left' approach.
You'll have experience with automation testing - the more the better! Currently the team are using JavaScript to carry out the automated testing, but in the future this may move to C#. This means a particular tool or technology is not massively important, but experience with Selenium and/or Ranorex could be beneficial! What is more important is the type of software delivery environment you have worked in - ideally one that has implemented CI/CD pipelines and/or cloud platforms.
Collaboration and working as a team is a big part of the working culture, and something the technical team and wider company are really passionate about, so you need to be the type of person who understands and cultivates these values (a 'rockstar' who refuses to work with anyone won't fly here).
You will have most of the following skills/experience
**Automation testing experience - ideally have thought about or designing a framework (maybe a POC, or in your own time)
**UI and functional testing focus (some non-functional testing too!)
**TDD or BDD approach
**CI/CD pipelines, shift left approach
**Cloud - Azure or AWS
**Regression testing
**Agile Scrum
The company are based in Glasgow, in the city centre (close to Glasgow Central Train Station). They operate a fairly relaxed and flexible hybrid working policy, but there is an expectation of some in-office time so you would need to live fairly locally.
The salary on offer is up to £45,000 dependent on experience, plus an annual bonus (based off company performance). Other benefits include 33 days holiday, 7.5% matched pension contribution, private health insurance, and life assurance.
The type of work the company do is a little bit different, not your typical software technology company so there's the opportunity to delve in some varied projects that are beneficial to the planet!
