Software Tester for a technology focused company in Glasgow (in office 4-5 times per month).
The company are on a journey to modernise their product (a cloud-based portal) and technical function (moving from monolithic to microservices), which includes the software testing function.
This is an opportunity to come in and have huge influence and affect both immediately and long-term in the software testing function, where the company are looking to move away from lengthy processes, and paper heavy documentation, and develop a simpler, streamlined approach. This may mean implementing new processes, or bringing on board new tools to make life easier - and this is something they are 100% behind, and rely on your expertise to guide the way!
You'll be able to take ownership of the testing function, and mould it as you see fit - something you are not likely to be able to do in a larger company!
Longer-term, the technical team has plans to double in growth, and this would include the addition of another one or two Testers, who you would be able to mentor and guide. They'd also like to implement automation testing to some degree once the testing team grows - but want to take a careful and considered approach to where automation testing might be beneficial (but its yet another skill you can add to your repertoire!).
Day-to-day you'll be reviewing existing test practices, processes and strategy and seeing if there is room for improvement, as well as carrying out manual functional, regression and exploratory testing.
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Experience in an Agile environment
**Manual testing - functional, exploratory, regression
**Suggesting/looking at ways to improve/develop the testing function
The salary on offer is up to £35,000 (with the potential to be flexible around this) and the benefits include: 31 days holiday, discretionary bonus, employee assistance programme and private medical cover to name a few.
Working from home is pretty flexible - the team would like you to come in (they have free available parking) for sprint planning sessions which ends up equating to 4-5 days per month.
