A technology company in Glasgow are looking for a Software Tester to improve upon their existing testing and develop the automation testing.
They are a security focused organisation that have created an award-winning product that helps companies to prevent against data breaches using modern cloud technologies. They're at critical point in the growth of the technical team where the introduction of an experienced, proactive Software Tester (you) is essential to the scalability of the product.
You'll be the sole Test Engineer in a small technical team (so there's a manageable ratio of Developers to Tester). There is a testing function in place, but currently it has a very manual testing focus. Initially when you come onboard you'll be reviewing and auditing this - so looking at whether the strategy, processes, practices and documentation is up to scratch. Automation testing has been identified as the next step, and this is where your expertise will come into play. You'll develop the automation testing, identifying tools and technology and implementing from there.
It's an ideal role to be in, as you'll be afforded a huge amount of trust to develop the testing as you see fit (which isn't something you tend to be able to do in larger organisations) but you'll also be well-supported by the Developers and CTO (and advocated for!).
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Experience as a sole Tester, or having significant influence over the testing function
**Functional and non-functional testing, including exploratory testing
**Automation testing (Cucumber would be preferable), and identifying areas for automation
**Experience in a cloud environment
**Help the Developers and Cloud Engineers move towards a DevOps environment
**Assessing and improving test coverage

Salary-wise they can offer up to £45,000, as well as benefits. Based near Ibrox in Glasgow, ideally you would be able to come into the office once a week, but the team are happy to be flexible around this.
