• 2-3 years’ experience as a Structural Steel Painter
• Painting Trade Certificate will be beneficial
• 3 – 4 years exp as Supervisor
• Able to work on Heights
• Extensive Use of Ladders
• Medical and physical fit

Can take directions

Works well with others

Good work ethic

Ability to work overtime, when necessary

Gives proper attention to detail

Works smart and safe

Must have contactable references

Must be able to do the following:

• Verify that steel surface is prepared for coating
• Operation of compressed air spray paint system
• Application of standard primer to fabricated steel
• Monitor wet mil thickness of paint applied
• Sandblast: Check every item’s sandblasting profile
• Ordering sandblasting sand in advance
• Loading: ensure damage paint as little as possible in the loading process
• Job cards needs to be issued to Painters each morning
• Before the Painter begins to prime the items, the Paint Supervisor needs to sign the job card
• Paint supervisor needs to give Planner every morning an update on where the items are in the painting process
• Ensure employees working effectively
• Check that work area is closed and fans are off before the premises left
