SUMMARY:
Stock Controller required for established business based in the Helderberg area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing inventory and purchase merchandise based on the company's needs
  • Overseeing and coordinating regular inventory audits 
  • Maintaining reports of purchases and prices
  • Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock
  • Entering purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases
  • Placing orders to replenish merchandise 
  • Tracking shipments and addressing any delays
  • Overseeing storage of products, particularly of fragile items
  • Evaluating suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
  • Liaising with warehouse staff and other internal teams to test products’ quality 
  • Keeping updated inventory records (including daily shipments)
  • Ensuring purchases do not exceed budget

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Manager or similar role
  • Active participation in inventory audits
  • Excellent organization, communication and negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Ability to work well with suppliers, customers and other staff members
  • Good interpersonal and listening skills
