SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available!! Our client in the Premium Clothing Sector is looking to employ a Store Manager to join their dynamic team in Port Elizabeth.
POSITION INFO:
As the Store Manager, you will hold full accountability for the overall condition and upkeep of the branch. You will ensure that both the exterior and interior of the store are maintained to a high standard, including the proper upkeep and maintenance of fixtures and fittings. Additionally, you will coordinate janitorial and repair services to ensure the store is always presented in its best possible condition.
Stock Control: You will oversee all aspects of inventory management, taking full responsibility for stock levels and ensuring accurate reporting of overages and shortages. This includes preparing requisitions for stock replenishment, identifying slow-moving items, and conducting regular stock takes to ensure optimal inventory accuracy and availability.
Merchandising: In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic organization of store displays, including seasonal and sale promotions. You will explore new and innovative ways to present merchandise, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and operational efficiency. Maintaining the store’s housekeeping standards and ensuring the quality and variety of merchandise align with customer expectations will be key aspects of this responsibility.
Marketing and Sales: You will lead the execution of marketing initiatives and promotional activities, striving to maximize sales opportunities. This will include directing staff to effectively prepare merchandise displays, actively participating in sales promotions, and staying abreast of the latest marketing trends and industry developments. A key part of your role will be providing leadership and motivation to your team, ensuring you exceed sales targets, and driving special events or promotions to enhance the store’s performance. Your insights and suggestions for continuous improvements will be encouraged.
Administrative and Cash Management: The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the administrative operations of the store, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and maintaining high standards in store operations. You will monitor cash handling procedures and verify documentation on a daily basis. Effective management of controllable expenses is also essential, as it directly impacts branch profitability. You will report directly to the Area Manager, providing timely updates on store performance.
Staff Management: In this leadership role, you will assign tasks and responsibilities to employees according to their job descriptions, plans, and goals. You will play an active role in motivating, training, and developing your team to ensure peak performance and a high level of customer service. Regularly assessing staff performance, enforcing policies, and addressing any disciplinary issues will be part of your responsibilities. You will also manage recruitment efforts and facilitate staff meetings, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous growth.
Security and Risk Management: As Store Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment within the store. This includes overseeing security personnel, ensuring adherence to security protocols, and monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will work to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety and security of both staff and customers.
Customer Service Excellence: You will ensure that exceptional customer service standards are upheld across the store, fostering a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-centric atmosphere. This will involve training staff to deliver exceptional service, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, and consistently striving to meet and exceed customer expectations. Your leadership will drive customer satisfaction and help cultivate a loyal clientele.
Job Requirements:
- Matric Certificate
- NQF 5/6 Certificate or Diploma in Retail/Business Management (preferred)
- 2-5 years of experience in a retail or operations environment, with proven experience as an Assistant Manager or Store Manager
