POSITION INFO:

Overview: Our client, an exclusive touring company in Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Storeman to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase orders and ensuring the availability of necessary engine parts for their fleet of small vehicles and coaches. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in parts purchase and sales, along with proficiency in computer systems to support inventory management and other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and process purchase orders for engine parts and other necessary supplies.

Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages.

Ensure the timely procurement of parts for the maintenance and repair of the fleet, including small vehicles and coaches.

Collaborate with the workshop team to fulfill parts requirements for regular maintenance and repairs.

Conduct regular stocktaking and report discrepancies or issues with stock levels.

Assist in sales of automotive parts, liaising with vendors and suppliers as required.

Maintain a clean and organized parts storage area, ensuring all items are stored safely and correctly.

Provide excellent customer service and communication with internal teams.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification.

Valid Code B driver’s license.

Minimum of 5 years'' experience in parts purchase and sales.

Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Proficient in computer literacy (important for inventory and purchase order management).

Sound knowledge of mechanical and automotive parts.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Previous experience working with a fleet of vehicles or in a workshop setting.

Knowledge of the specific needs for touring company vehicles (coaches and small vehicles).
