Storeman / Administrator - Germiston

SUMMARY:
A leading Waste Management Company is seeking the services of a Storeman / Administrator for its operations in Germiston

POSITION INFO:

The Storeman will be responsible for receiving, storing and dispatching goods from the Store. In addition, they will also ensure that the inventory is well-organized, accurate and secure.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive and inspect incoming goods for quality, quality and damage.
• Store goods in designated areas according to stock rotation requirements.
• Pick and pack orders according to customer specifications and delivery schedules.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, vans, or other delivery vehicles.
• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, trolleys etc
• Keep accurate records of stock movements, inventory levels and transactions.
• Perform monthly stock counts and regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Report and discrepancies, damages or losses to the Supervisor.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Unloading goods.
• Receiving and checking goods against orders.
• Inspecting for damage.
• Moving goods around a store.
• Stocking shelves and stacking heavy goods safely.
• Picking goods from shelves and recording their movements.
• Packing and sending orders to customers.
• Leadership qualities – to ensure team operates seamlessly in the absence of Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
• Valid Forklift license
• 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Storeman,
• Proficient in Inventory software systems
• Familiar with storage operations and best practices
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A good level of physical fitness
