SUMMARY:
Qualifications and minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric);
- Basic understanding of mathematics and physics;
- Engineering/Draughting certificate or diploma;
- Autodesk suite of programs such as AutoCAD (Proficiency 5+ years) & Bim360 (Proficiency 3+ Years);
- Revit (Proficiency 3+ Years);
- Knowledge of reinforcement steel and structural steel (Non-negotiable);
- Basic understanding of structures (Concrete, Steel, and timber);
- Ability to assess and understand architectural layouts in order to coordinate and overlay with structural layouts.
Experience:- Minimum 4-10 Years in retail, commercial and residential type steel, and concrete structures (Mining, Timber, Petrochemical and Agriculture will be advantageous);
- A thorough understanding of reinforcement steel and detailing (Preparation of bending schedules);
- Preparation of concrete drawings (layouts, sections, and details);
- Preparation of structural steel layouts, sections, and details;
- Site experience – assisting the engineer/project manager with site inspections, measurements, and surveys will be advantageous.
Competency profile:- Architecture – Understanding the principles and techniques involved in the design of structural layouts;
- Building and construction – Basic knowledge of building materials and methods involved in the erection and construction of structures;
- Design – Providing documentation, detailed instructions, and engineering drawings to effectively communicate with the project team and contractors (sub-contractors) to ensure the structures are constructed with minimal mistakes (Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial and non-negotiable);
- Administration – Basic knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions within your discipline. Responsible for checking your own work prior to issuing for review to the project engineer/manager and responsible for printing and issuing layouts to the relevant construction sites;
- Interpersonal relations – Showing understanding and politeness to others (team player) and developing and maintaining good relationships with others.
Computer literacy:- Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- AutoCAD 2D & 3D;
- Autodesk Revit – Non-negotiable;
- Autodesk BIM360;
- Prokon Probar/Padds (Reinforcement detailing software);
- Prokon (will be advantageous);
