CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of this post is to provide humanising student-centred and staff support. Through consultative engagement the position will provide student records related services to solve problems, manage change, improve efficiency and ensure the effective and efficient execution of functions in the broader Academic Administration (AA) where required
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•Manage and oversee various registration related activities during registraion
•Efficient and effective execution and maintenance of various student records related queries and requests
•Verifications of study records and qualifications
•Provision of syllabi including requests received from foreign organisations and Professional Bodies
Drafting various communications
CORE COMPETENCIES
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of university and academic administration rules, policies, procedures,systems and relevant Acts
•Excellent knowledge and understanding of application procedures and processes for the verification ofqualifications and study records both locally and internationally
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong ability to manage and perform different functions concurrently and the ability to work under stressfulcircumstances on a continuous basis
•Strong ability to manage and work independently to build relationships in order to gain cooperation from staff,students, alumni and external stakeholders.
•Strong problem solving and analytical skills to independently resolve complex Student Records and Registrationmatters;
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must possess:
•Grade 12 or equivalent•At least 3 years' relevant experience at a Higher Education Institution in an academic administration environment•Shortlisted candidates will be required to avail themselves for psychometric testing which would inform the shortlisting and/or contribute towards the interview process.
