SUMMARY:
Our client is well known for its accomplishments in the field of freight management services in Southern Africa, including containerised sea freight. Their IT solutions include bespoke in-house development for freight and container management, workflow processing, and packaged software for Financial and Human Resources.
They currently seek a motivated IT Support Engineer/Administrator, to assist in managing all IT infrastructure at the Durban Facility. This will include:
POSITION INFO:
- Setting up and administering Windows PCs and Android hand-held devices for the line-of-business system.
- Managing and maintaining the facility’s network infrastructure IT infrastructure.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of the systems.
- Providing first-line support to end-users.
Minimum Job Requirements:- Matric is essential.
- Minimum 2 or more years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator.
- Familiarity with antivirus products and Windows updates.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage antivirus products and ensure systems are protected against malware and other security threats.
- Ensure end-user devices are properly up-to-date.
- Configure and maintain Windows desktops and laptops; wireless Android devices, and printers.
- Support and administer Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Provide user support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices.
- Understand enough of the business systems to provide first-line support and address issues.
- Assist end-users in logging helpdesk tasks to notify and track problems.
- Report problems to Head-Office IT in Cape Town, and to vendors where necessary.
- Build troubleshooting guides for common and recurring problems.
- Proactively implement improvement solutions to the IT infrastructure.
- Compile IT equipment asset register.
- Procure software and hardware to enhance business operations.
