Support Sales Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated Support Sales Engineer to join a team at a company specializing in the manufacture, supply, and installation of advanced equipment for the fresh produce industry. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel—primarily within South Africa, with occasional international travel required.

POSITION INFO:

Provide support to customers by consolidating all inquiries and coordinating assistance with the available technical team (technicians and/or technical agents).
Participate in the installation and commissioning of new machinery from start to finish, ensuring smooth project progress by visiting sites at key stages of the installation.
Address and follow up on customer queries and complaints, delivering after-sales service focused on technical advice (e.g., recommending part replacements or services), organizing intervention teams, and ensuring processes are in place.
Develop technician and agent schedules, monitor job cards, and manage time and resource allocation.
Provide detailed feedback to the team to facilitate the implementation of technical solutions.
Contribute to the establishment and optimization of spare parts inventory.
Foster a "learn from experience" culture within the technical team by sharing and applying technical knowledge to improve team efficiency.
Specialized training unique to the company will be provided to the successful candidate.

Skills & Experience: 
Technical experience in mechanical, electrical and automation
Experience with installation of specialty machinery
Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
Management skills with a team as well as agents
Good communication skills with team and customers
Must have a valid drivers license and a valid / renewable passport

Qualification:
Degree in engineering
