A high-end luxury restaurant is seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to work alongside the Head Chef in managing food stock, handling premium ingredients, and ensuring top-quality standards.

Responsibilities:
✔ Create and prepare a diverse sushi menu, including salmon, tuna, and unagi dishes
✔ Prepare appetizers, soups, and salads in line with Japanese cuisine philosophy
✔ Lead and manage kitchen staff in the Head Chef’s absence
✔ Coordinate with wait staff to meet special requests and food allergy requirements
✔ Train and guide junior kitchen staff on food preparation and plating
✔ Ensure all food presentation meets quality and restaurant standards
✔ Oversee kitchen stock, maintain proper food dating, and ensure quality control
✔ Manage waste reduction and maintain budget efficiency
✔ Maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen
Requirements:
✔ Matric (Culinary Diploma preferred)
✔ 4+ years of experience in a senior chef role
✔ Proven work experience as a Sushi Chef or in an Asian restaurant
✔ Strong knowledge of sushi types and rolling techniques
✔ Own transport & valid driver’s license
✔ Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
✔ Leadership and teamwork skills
✔ Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
✔ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✔ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
✔ Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
