Systems Analysts

SUMMARY:
The Systems Analyst plays a key role in understanding business needs, analyzing existing systems and processes, and designing IT solutions that meet those needs. The role involves working closely with both technical teams (developers, network engineers) and business stakeholders (management, end users) to ensure that systems are efficient, effective, and aligned with business goals. The Systems Analyst will perform requirements gathering, system design, process optimization, and support for IT solutions.

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

• • Collaborate with business stakeholders, end-users, and management to gather detailed system requirements and business objectives.
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to elicit requirements, ensuring that all functional and non-functional needs are captured.
  • Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and pain points to understand system and process inefficiencies.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers and IT teams.

• • Design system solutions and create functional specifications that align with business needs and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure the design is feasible and adheres to best practices.
  • Assist in the creation of prototypes, mock-ups, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Support the development and customization of software applications, ensuring that they meet the business needs and comply with technical standards.

• • Develop test plans and ensure that new systems or system changes are tested thoroughly (unit, integration, and user acceptance testing).
  • Coordinate and support the execution of system testing, validating that the system meets the defined requirements.
  • Identify, document, and work with developers to resolve issues and defects discovered during testing.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements based on test results.

• • Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, or areas for improvement in existing systems or processes.
  • Propose recommendations for process automation, system integration, or process re-engineering to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the optimization of business processes by identifying appropriate IT solutions.

• • Maintain accurate documentation of system requirements, designs, configurations, and modifications.
  • Create user manuals, training materials, and system documentation for internal and external users.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders that describe project status, findings, and suggested improvements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference.

• • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements and expectations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful system adoption.
  • Assist with system deployments and ensure that users are prepared for changes in system functionality or business processes.

• • Work with technical teams to design, test, and implement system integrations with other business systems and software tools.
  • Support the deployment of new systems and updates, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and address any issues or improvements required after system deployment.

• • Provide ongoing support for existing systems, diagnosing issues, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and releases in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Ensure that systems are functioning optimally and meeting the evolving needs of the business.

• • Work with security teams to ensure that systems are secure, protecting sensitive data and minimizing risks

• • • Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, business, finance, operations) to ensure alignment of technology solutions with business goals.
    • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to broader organizational projects.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or IT-related fields (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) are a plus
  • Experience:
    
    • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within a technology-driven environment.
    • Experience with systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
    • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, databases, and integration tools.
    • Experience working on large-scale IT projects or system implementations is preferred.

• • Strong understanding of system design principles, software development, and IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in using tools for requirements gathering, business process modeling, and documentation (e.g., Visio, Jira, Confluence, Balsamiq, or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle), data modeling, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar) or web technologies is a plus.

• • Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Strong process-oriented thinking and ability to identify areas for operational improvement.

• • Ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and user manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with business and technical teams.

• • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines effectively, ensuring that project milestones are met.
  • Experience working with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) is beneficial.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.

• • Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically about both system functionality and user requirements.
  • Capability to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions that improve system performance.

• • Ability to adapt to new technologies, tools, and systems quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing requirements.
