Job Description
Our client who is based in Cape Town has an opportunity for an energetic individual to join their team in the capacity of a QA Manager/Technical Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Continuously improve the food safety documented traceability system for the site to ensure proper due diligence.
- Understand the company food safety and quality management system and ensure proper implementation and maintenance thereof at site level
- Set up and adherence to training plan that aligns to requirements of quality / food safety management system
- Implement and monitor performance of GMP and PRP programs in the facility
- Continuously review quality and food safety risk assessments in line with emerging risks and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring internal audits are conducted as per internal audit schedule and appropriate action is taken to address deviations
- Lead all third party/ customer audits for the site and facilitate closing of corrective actions
- Sign off all new raw materials and packaging for new product development purposes
- Assist in compiling the necessary information for budget reviews
- Seek to continuously improve customer relationships through closely working with the internal and external customer
- Liaise and provide service rating for all external service providers at site level
- Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Participate in personal hygiene checks
- Any other related duties
Qualifications
- Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or equivalent
- Supplementary advanced training in Food Safety Systems
Skills
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in food manufacturing
- At least 5 years’ quality assurance management experience
- Must be cutomer orientated
- Must Pay attention to detail
